I feel it has been awhile since my last turn for Girl’s Night. When planning, I had originally wanted to make grilled pizzas. However, the grill is currently indisposed so I had to turn to Plan B. I obtained this recipe from a friend of mine who has told me about this dish several, mouthwatering times. I could not wait to try it myself so I figured this was the perfect occasion. I also feel that I use my Girls as my test subjects for new recipes, my guinea pigs if you will. Thanks ladies!
This recipe was a huge hit! Some may or may not have said that it was one of the best versions of this dish that they’ve had! I paired the pasta with homemade garlic bread and Caesar salad.
Ingredients 1 lb Penne pasta 3 shallots, diced 3 garlic cloves, diced 3/4 head finely chopped Parsley 3 Tbsp. butter 10 oz. Heavy Cream 1.5 cans tomato paste 1lb sweet Italian sausage 1.5 shots of vodka 1 tomato, diced (optional) Directions Cook penne according to instructions. Melt butter in a large, deep sauté pan. Sauté the garlic and onion until the onion becomes translucent. Add in the sausage and cook through, breaking up into pieces. Add in chopped parsley to combine. Pour in the vodka and allow to cook for a few minutes. Mix in the tomato paste, combing well, and allow to cook. If adding tomatoes, stir into sausage mixture. Pour in cream and allow to simmer until the sauce becomes thick and creamy. Pour sauce over Penne. Serves 6-8
