In years past, my family has always gone out for Easter Brunch. Each year it’s hard to say who will be able to make it home for the holiday weekend so it just always seemed easier to dine out. This year however my mom thought it would be nice for me to host. You know, since I did such a good job with Thanksgiving and Christmas…I guess.
I knew for the table I wanted to use the traditional pastel Easter colors. My aunt Shelagh had given me a full set of white dishes to be used for various special occasions. This was a perfect opportunity to break them out. With yellow table clothes and tapers, white serving dishes, and colorful tulips I think I came up with a simple, yet elegant table setting.
As far as the menu goes, I turned to my trusty Pinterest and Food Network webpages to start getting the creative juices flowing for menu ideas. I settled on a traditional brunch menu with some festive additions.
On The Menu
Crock Pot Honey Spiral Ham
Baked French Toast Casserole
Spinach and Goat Cheese Quiche
Bacon and Cheddar Quiche
Fruit Salad
Colorful Deviled Eggs (a lovely touch from Mom)
Gramma Barb’s Ambrosia
Mini Muffins & “Bunny” Cinnamon Buns
My family seemed fairly pleased with the array of food. I sent everyone home, including my out of state travelers, with goodie bags to enjoy later in the day or week. I must admit, I do enjoy the new tradition of Nick and I hosting the holidays at our house. It allows my inner party-planner to come out for some fun. Until the next holiday Grenier clan!
