Dianna’s Bridal Shower

As I have previously mentioned, we hosted a bridal shower for Miss Dianna a few weekends ago. I must say, it was a great success. Having a larger bridal party allowed for multiple ideas and suggestions and also more people to share the tasks and preparations.

I utilized my contacts at the restaurant I used to work for. They always put on a lovely event and the atmosphere you just can’t beat. You may recognize the location from my friend Cara’s bridal shower. So we booked a Sunday afternoon brunch.

For decor, we kept it simple and elegant. I requested white linens for the tables. Tara came up with beautiful centerpieces that doubled as the prizes. She found silver tins at the craft store that she placed potted plants in. Tara really has a knack for planting. We were originally going to place votive candles around the plants but decided against it. Instead, Tara came up with the idea of flower petals for a pop of color.

We all agreed that the favors should be useful and delicious! The bridesmaids and Dianna’s mom baked batches of chocolate chip cookies and placed them in cellophane bags with a pretty blue ribbon. They came out really cute and who doesn’t love chocolate chip cookies?

Sabrina helped me bake and decorate the cupcakes. We wanted to stick with two different flavors while keeping fruit throughout both. Dianna does love fruit after all. We made a chocolate cake with strawberry buttercream frosting and a lemon cake with lemon cream cheese frosting.

We played a few games will Dianna opened her gifts; Bridal Bingo and How Well Do You Know The Bride.  She received a lot of beautiful and useful items for her and Keith to enjoy. While she was opening, Tara and Jenna were placed on “Bow Hat” duty. I must say, they did a fabulous job.

We ended up having a wonderful afternoon with Dianna’s closest friends and family. I’m so happy to be a part of this special moment in one of my dearest friend’s life. There are many more events to look forward to over the next couple of months, each being just as special as this one.
